SEO for WordPress / WooCommerce — Full Optimization
SEO for WordPress and WooCommerce — technical optimization
Out of the box, WordPress creates a lot of pages that have no business being in search results: date archives, tags with a single post, author pages, media attachments. WooCommerce then adds duplicate sources of its own.
What is included
- A review of page types: what to index and what to close off — archives, tags, attachments, utility sections;
- WooCommerce duplicates: attribute filters, sorting, pagination, a product sitting in several categories;
- canonical URLs reconciled with the SEO plugin's own settings;
- structured data for products, reviews and breadcrumbs — verified not to be emitted twice by the plugin and the theme at once;
- a sitemap without junk sections;
- speed: Core Web Vitals from field data, not from a lab test alone.
The typical finding
The most common problem is several plugins doing the same job. The SEO plugin adds markup, the theme adds its own, the caching plugin adds another sitemap. The search engine receives contradictory signals and the site carries needless overhead.
Second most common: the attachment pages WordPress creates for every image. On a store with a thousand products that is thousands of empty pages in the index.
What is not included
Copywriting and link building. This is the technical part: removing the obstacles so that content can start working.
