Local SEO (Google Business Profile)
Local SEO and Google Business Profile
If you have a physical location, a workshop, or work in a specific city, local results often bring more enquiries than ordinary ones. People search for things "near me", and a completely different block of results is shown.
What is included
- creating or tidying up the Google Business Profile listing;
- categories, services, service area, opening hours;
- photographs and a description that genuinely influence choice;
- reconciling the site's details with the listing — name, address and phone must match character for character;
- organisation markup on the site;
- working with reviews: how to earn them and what to reply;
- city pages, if you operate in several.
The main rule
The details must match everywhere. If the site says "10 Shevchenka St", the listing says "Shevchenka 10" and a directory says "10 T. Shevchenka Street", a search engine may treat those as three different organisations. Discrepancies hit local rankings directly.
About city pages
The tempting idea is to produce twenty identical pages with the city name substituted in. It does not work: such pages are recognised as templated and either fail to rank or drag the site down. A city page needs content of its own — how you work there specifically, examples, contact details.
