Emergency store recovery

For cases where the store is down right now: redirecting to someone else's site, showing a browser warning, dropped out of search results, or simply returning an error to every visitor.

Order of work

1. Isolation and evidence. Before changing anything, the current state is preserved — logs and files. Without them the entry point cannot be established, and an uncleaned entry point means it happens again.
2. Restoring availability. Getting the store serving customers again takes priority over a perfect diagnosis.
3. Finding the malicious code. Not only the obvious files: injections hide in the database, in modification files, in scheduled tasks and in upload directories.
4. Clean-up and verification against a known-good copy of the same version, rather than by eye.
5. Credential rotation: admin accounts, database, FTP and SSH, API keys.
6. Closing the entry point so the same route cannot be used twice.

What I need from you to start

Server or hosting panel access, and — if they exist — backups from before the incident. Backups make the job faster and cheaper, because they establish how long the compromise has been present.

The honest caveat: a store that has been infected for months cannot be restored to "as it was" in an hour. What can be done quickly is stopping the damage and getting customers served again.
