id13dev Live Viewers — “N people are viewing this product now”

id13dev Live Viewers adds a compact “N people are viewing this product now” block to the product page — it shows the activity around a product and gives shoppers extra social proof.

What it does

• A real count of active visitors, a “real + boost” mode, or simulation.
• 4 ready-made block styles, custom colours and a pulsing indicator.
• Updates the number without reloading the page.
• Finds its place on the product page by itself; for non-standard themes — manual placement with a CSS selector or a special marker.
• Display rules per product; Ukrainian, English and Russian with correct plural forms.
• Works behind Cloudflare and proxies.

No core or template edits, no calls to external services, no extra cookies, and it works correctly with page caching because the counter loads separately. No cron required.

How it works

1. Visitor. A shopper opens a product page — the module records their presence by the “network address + browser” pair, without cookies.
2. Counting. Active means seen on the page within the last N minutes, separately for each product. Besides the real count, there are “real + boost” and “simulation” modes.
3. Display. The product page shows “N people are viewing this product now”, and the number updates without reloading the page.
4. Cache. The counter loads with a separate request, so it works with full-page caching and behind Cloudflare.

Compatibility

OpenCart 3.0.x / ocStore 3.0.3.7 and 3.0.4.1, PHP 7.4–8.3, MySQL 5.6+ / MariaDB 10.1+. Tested on ocStore 3.0.3.7 (PHP 7.4) and ocStore 3.0.4.1 (PHP 8.3).
