Elementor Pro setup and development

Elementor lets you assemble pages visually, without code. That is convenient for landing pages and quick changes — but it has a cost worth knowing about in advance.

What I help with

• global styles — so changing a colour or a font applies everywhere at once;
• forms submitting to email or a CRM;
• mobile adaptation, where layouts frequently fall apart;
• speeding up pages built in Elementor.

Being honest about the drawbacks

Elementor is heavy. It adds its own styles and scripts to every page, and a site built on it is almost always slower than one on a plain theme. For a landing page that is acceptable; for a store with thousands of pages it is noticeable.

Lock-in. Deactivate the plugin and pages turn into a collection of shortcodes. Moving to another technology means rebuilding them.

Easy to make a mess. A visual editor tempts you to set spacing and sizes by eye for each block individually. Six months later the site looks untidy and every edit takes longer.

How I work with it

I use global styles and templates instead of configuring each block by hand. That costs more up front and considerably less to maintain.
